Day 25 November 15 Goodbye Thailand

The tension between us and the 4 losers continued. However, the nicer gangstas took pictures with us. We both knew why, because we were so much prettier and well-mannered than the other snobs. hahaha. We will be posting pictures of their ugly faces when we have the time.

Anyways, Janice got stuck on the plane sitting beside the 4 losers. Just her luck. FML. She quickly moved to an empty seat on the plane ASAP.

Lala went to Laos to see her cousins.

**Goodbye Lala :( see you in 2ish weeks. Have fun in Laos :) and be safe!!

Day 24 November 14 Pattaya Island

Janice is still being tormented by the contaminated water...FML

We take a boat ride to the island and Janice was...sea sick. AHHHH

We finally got to the island. It was not as pretty as imagined. Regardless, we went JET SKIING! woot! Unfortunately, we didn't get the jetski to ourselves. One of the workers was a third wheel. Janice was driving and thought about throwing him off with a crazy turn...lol. Anyways, Lala held on for dear life as Janice went on high speeds hahahaha.

We took advantage of the sun and tanned for about an hour before it got all cloudy again. Many things happened within this hour. While we were tanning, the bitchy girls started hating on us and stared as usual. The 20 year old with a 30 year old face hid from the sun the whole time we were in Pattaya, hiding under an umbrella. Probably a good idea since her face was so wrinkly and effed as it was LOL. The other girl with the annoying voice and a nose that looked like tucan Sam's beak was wearing a neon yellow bikini. She took her shorts off but still had a white t-shirt on the top. It was so pointless since she was in the water and it became see-through. Then we discovered why she was wearing a t-shirt. The girl had BUSHY ARMPITS. HOLY MOLY! we could see the dark shadow even with her t-shirt. Someone please tell this girl to trim that bush or weed-wack it LOL. Anyways, while we were sitting there and tanning, some man decides to take a picture of us. WTF. Then we got used to seeing guys in speedos BUT this one man topped it off. HE WAS WEARING A THONG SPEEDO. FML.

Anyways, we got hungry and went for lunch. We were getting ready to change, when we discovered we lost our locker key!!! after searching frantically, Lala realizes she put the key in her bag which was in the locked up locker -.- embarrassed, we got the lock cut. hahaha.

Lunch was the beginning of war. The fat guy who was friends with the two bitchy girls made an unneccessary comment. Although Lala had no idea what he said, she glared at him. And this is how it all started.

We went for a thai massage where Lala pretended not to understand thai. Then she would speak in english and tell Janice what they were saying and if they were talking about us LOL Anyways, the massage was comfortable up until our legs were being contorted in awkward ways and when they cracked our back and neck! -.- One of the snobby girls was so relaxed she fell asleep and started to snore. what a loser.

Dinner time was more intense. There was a physical separation at our table. The 4 losers + the young couple and then there was a gap in seating, and then there was us. We rejected their offer to scoop us rice and they were slightly offended. We acted like nothing was wrong. Then we finished dinner and the fat guy spins the plate of watermelon over. We pretend as if we didn't see him do that and ignore the plate of watermelon completely. Fat guy says quietly "what a bitch...". We become SO PISSED, we crossed our arms, sat with a slouch, and stared him down hardly blinking. He didn't dare look up until he was finished eating. While we were waiting for the bus, they start talking about us outside (since we were inside, we saw them all looking at us), we decided to step outside, and just look at him until he turned his back. The bus finally came and we got on. While we were walking to the back of the bus, we both took turns giving him the nastiest death stare EVER. He never dared to look at the back of the bus.

Afterwards we went to see Tiffany's Show (she-males). Janice LOVED IT. It was so entertaining. Janice was very impressed at how pretty some of them were. Pictures will be uploaded soon. After the show, we got the chance to take pictures and we got suckered into taking a picture with one of the uglier she-males :(

Had our last beer of the trip before we separate... :(

Day 23 November 13 Bangkok to Pattaya

We missed our complimentary breakfast today....well, we didn't really care for it since it was so shit anyways. So, we just had orange juice. Good enough for us!

Janice continues to feel the effects of the contaminated water from day 1 of the trip. OMG. She hates her life at the moment.

We went to Sriracha Tiger Zoo and fed a baby tiger :)
and then we had lunch at the zoo....and it was crappy. why are we not surprised?! the tension between us and the 4 gangstas are getting worse. The other young couple at the table are still neutral.

We hopped on the bus to our next destination...to see the elephants. SIAM Elephant Katinglou? The elephants were soooooo hairy and prickly and it's not that comfortable sitting on top. We tried our best to keep the weight distribution on the seat while the elephant was moving lol After the ride, the elephant picked us up with his trunk haha and now we have bruises on our arms from holding on to dear life. Then a baby elephant, which we called little dumbo, snuck up behind Janice and nudged her till she lost balance haha

Night time came along, and we decided not to see the "sexy show"...pretty much a strip show. Instead we decided to venture off on our own and sit at a bar and drink. After a few drinks, we were rather happy lol. Got suckered into joining the tour and eating shark fin meal, which was not that great, ugh. but anything tastes good while slightly intoxicated. hah.

to end off a good day, one of the bitchy girls...not the one with the ugly face and annoying voice. This one was still ugly, but in another way. She was like 20ish years old, but her face was so fucked. She looked like she was in her mid 30's with all her wrinkles. Sucks to be her. Anyways, she said something to rude us, assuming we didn't hear. We heard loud and clear and from then on, NO MORE BEING NICE. BRING IT ON BITCHES.

Day 22 November 12 Bangkok

Lala booked her plane ticket to Laos :) WOOOT! We don't need that stupid tour guide's help. Breakfast was so crap. There was nothing to eat. what crap! After our bus broke down yesterday night, we got a prettier one...it was PINK and mosquito free...sorta.

On the bus, the ill-mannered girl crushes Lala's leg while she was lowering the chair knowing very well that Lala was sitting behind her. Stupid bitch! We established that she has two things no girl should ever have:
1) the "punch me" face
2) the "shut the fuck up" voice

We went to some jewlery gem place and was stalked by one of the employees there. OMG. like a friggin bee that won't fly away. lol.

Since we didn't pay for the buffet, we got to have our own lunch :) We ate at Central World and Janice had TWO meals lol. The first one was Pork Curry. We thought it was yellow curry, but it was definitely not. It was so spicy that Janice's lips got all red and swollen. LOL. We found a tourist pamphlet and decided to go on an adventure....

We took a taxi to Wat Pho (reclining Buddha). It was sooooooooo HOT!!! We wanted to go to the Wat Phra Kaeo, but we couldn't get in because we were wearing shorts and we couldn't go to the Wat Arun for the climb but we were limited on time and it was on the other side of the river. BOOOOOOOOO :(

After all the traffic jam, we went to get some starbucks except they didn't have Janice's fave Vanilla Bean :( WTF.

Day 21 November 11 Bangkok

WOOOOT! We arrive in Bangkok!

First thing that happens, Lala gets verbally harassed by the immigration guy. Fucking jerk.

Then we were off to Siam Park...we were there for 4 hours!!! It was like 40 degrees weather. We almost died. We were so dehydrated, Janice slept on a bench in the shade like a homeless person hahah. People noticed her and from then on, that's how they struck up conversations with us. We introduced ourselves. They have a hard time saying our names, so Janice's became "Jennice" and Lawren became "Roaren" LOL only they gave up on Lala's name and just called Jennice whenever they needed something LOL It was here in the park we also drank...possibly contaminated water.

After being jailed at the park for 4 hours, we went to see the Erawan Shrine (4 face buddha). After this, we went for dinner. It was at this time, we started to have a negative impression of the younger people on our tour. We were stuck at a table with ill-mannered girls and guys. We could tell that there was a boss, and 3 followers. There were also 6 other gangsta-ish guys who were nicer than the other 4. Our negative impressions of the 4 were soon validated in the days to come. Nevertheless, we were still very polite and nice to everyone.

We went to the Suan Lum Night Bazaar. Tons of jewlery, clothes, food, etc etc. It was so big and everything looked the same. And of course, we got lost. LOL.

While on our way back to the hotel, the bus AC broke down and we were dying on the bus. Some of the people on the bus were sleeping, so when we arrived at the hotel, our local tour guide made a rooster call? FUCKING WEIRD. Oh, and this local tour guide also does this irritating mouth tasting sound. Hard to explain, you'll have to watch our videos once we post it up. We were forced to use the bell boy service at the hotel..BULLSHIT. We were so hot and fed up, we turned the thermostat to 10 degrees and slept so so well in the cold temperature :)

Day 20 November 10 Guangzhou

Lucky us, we had a complimentary breakfast with the ghetto hotel we were staying in...did we mention that it was in the corner of the underground parking lot? ghetto? lol

we were on the hunt for a suitcase since things were super cheap there. We walked what seemed like hours to find a place that sold suitcases. During this walk-athon, we stopped men in their tracks. Two incidents stand out:
1) man literally stops right beside us...stares...then says "hmmmmm" and walks away...and then turns around to look at us again.
2) we are walking down the street and these 4 guys were sitting down smoking. One of them stands up, and was in our face with his cigarette and stares.

Is that even normal behaviour?!?!?!? Funny thing is, we are wearing t-shirts and nothing scandalous.

anyways, we finally manage to buy a suitcase and headed to the train station back to HK. Janice's aunt decides to sit on another seat so we can sit with the luggage beside us. While Janice's aunt was moving, a guy in his mid-late 20s was carrying a clear bag with yellow liquid inside and it was DRIPPING! and it dripped on Janice's Aunt's foot. .....yup, it was PEE! how fucking gross and uncivilized is that?!?? Aunt flips out as the guy headed towards the washroom with his bag, leaving a trail of pee on the ground.

Goodbye Guangzhou. We have to disinfect our whole body now...

Finally, we are back in HK dragging Janice's new luggage around...FML. it was HARD work! On our way back, Janice gets elbowed in the head (wacked, almost) LOL and while Janice was getting off the escalator with her luggage she steps on a BIG COCKROACH and all you hear is CRRRRRUNCH LOL and its legs were hanging out the sides of her flip flops. FML.

Day 19 November 9 Guangzhou

Finally arrived in Guangzhou and met up with Janice's aunts family and had lunch....the best food we've had so far!!! We shopped around where Janice's dad used to live and it was FUCKING HOT! we were sweating in places we never knew could sweat LOL ew, gross, i know. Our faces were oily throughout the whole day...we called it the.."dewy" look.

In the evening, we met up with Janice's Grandma's sisters and there, we listened to family history and tons of stories. Despite the unbearable heat and sweat, we were able to stay focused and listen to the stories lol. We walked around Beijing Road after dinner and stayed at a not so 5 star hotel. It was so grimey we had to wear long pants to sleep, use our t-shirts as pillow covers so our face wouldn't touch it and tucked our shirts into our pants to avoid being bitten by bugs and whatnot.

Day 18 Sunday November 8

Janice woke up feeling like crap but Lala was a-ok. It was raining and we thought our trip to Lamma Island would've be cancelled, but Janice's friend, Kong, still convinced us to come. We tried to get ready, but Janice just wasn't up for it. We cancelled the trip and stayed home to rest.

Finally when it was time for dinner we went out to get some snacks and lamb hot pot. mmmm mmmm good.

Came home, packed, and off to Guangzhou tmr....

Day 17 November 7 Stanley/Lan Kwai Fong!

Went to our favourite place again, Mongkok, and met up with Ken. We weren't really hungry, so Ken went to Langham Place to eat. The burger he ordered looked so cute and yummy, which made us a tad bit hungry too...except we didn't show it. On our way to the washroom, we saw New York Fries! OMG! So we both ordered a Poutine! HAHAH YUMMM!

Then we went to Stanley Market by taking the MTR to Causeway Bay and mini-bus #40. We took pics at the pier and walked along the beach. We attempted to do the famous jumping pics...EPIC FAIL. Knocked out on the mini-bus on the way back to Central. We originally wanted to shop at Mongkok, but we were so exhausted, we just went home to eat dinner with Janice's Aunt.

Then we got ready for a night our at LKF :) at around 11ish, we met up with Ken, Ben, Iris @ Central. Whilst walking through the station, Ken decides to sneak up behind us and scare the shit out of us. OMG!

First stop at LKF, CLUB 7-11! HAHAHAH we hung out outside of the clubs and bars with our beers and bottle of red wine and our classy paper cups LOL Ken's friend, Eric, arrives. After chilling for a bit, we head to another 7-11. By this time, Janice realizes the paper cups have handles! HOW CUTE! LOL we were rather amused...for a good 10 minutes hahaha. By this time, Janice was tipsy...and the night of laughter begins LOL. Janice starts to do her dance and hair flips which were all caught on video. We walk to Club 9 and Janice is doing the model walk and hair flip the whole way there LOL. Whilst in the club, Janice continues to "boogy down" and model walk throughout the club HAHAHAHA.

Day 16 November 6 mmmmm BK

Today we took our sweet time getting ready to leave. Woke up later than usual, around 8ish-9ish. We went to Central to go to the meeting for our Thailand tour. There, we got a voucher for free dim sum and got a free travel bag! SWEEET! we LOVE FREE FOOD! HAHAHA

After the meeting, we sat down at a Burger King which was across from a Rolls Royce lol. As Lala was trying to call her Aunt in Thailand, a worker from Burger King passed by and told Janice how good the Angry Angus burger was lol. However, we wanted Mexican food, so we walked uphill in LKF & SOHO to find a mexican restaurant. By the time we found one, we realized that deep down, we really wanted to satisfy our "american/canadian" craving. So, where did we go? Yup, BURGER KING! we ordered the Angry Angus burger that was introduced to us earlier and supersized EVERYTTHING HAHAHAHAH and we even got free chicken strips with our meal. And yes, Janice finished EVERYTHING, including the super sized drink -.- ahahahhaa

we went to Diamond Hill to look at Nian Lian Garden...it was really pretty...japanese inspired garden. We took a mini-bus home, but got lost. Lucky for us, the mini bus driver was nice and re-routed, and dropped us off at the correct spot so we could get home :)

Day 15 November 5 TST

Today we are meeting up with Janice's friend, IRIS!
We head out to TST early in the morning...so early that the stores aren't even open yet, so we take a stroll at Kowloon Park.
We ate at Janice's fave restaurant, Satay King :) YUMMMM and had dessert at Hui Lau Shan.
While at the dessert place, we had an Oprah moment. It will never be forgotten....
Finally we meet up with Iris and we ate our 2nd lunch of the day lol, SUSHI!!!! After lunch, we had Iris take us hunting for fake eye lashes and a swimsuit. Went to these cool 5 storey shopping buildings and we bought cute japanese snacks. We did an HK-Must...we ate STINKY TOFUUUUU! hahaha There was also a store that sold rather interesting things...such as condoms in boses that looked like the popular cold medicine box and other sex toys haha
For dinner we craved for "Dai Pai Dongs" and we got lost trying to find it...took like an hour to find it! We realized that during that hour, we actually walked past it! Then we went to the harbour @ night and saw the pretty lights.
To end our night off, we met up with Iris' boss, Ben, and we had a drink at SOHO. Then we walked down to Lan Kwai Fong and witnessed the most frightening thing. Two asian girls thought they were video girls. They were doing the "snake move" the "chest pump" and just seizure-like cardiac arrest moves. Oh, and they actually thought they were cool. While performing their crazy dance, they even elbowed this poor white man. Then we saw this white girl doing the frog move (hopping up and down) and the other girl was recipricating by doing the butterfly move. WTF. People are so weird.
After a long and eventful night, we finally subwayed home, and Iris missed her last train home. Sorry iris!!!
Even though the bed at home is hard as a rock, we were glad to be lying on it after hours and hours of walking.

p.s. Happy Birthday Ben and Iris!

Day 14 November 4 Causeway Bay

Today we went to Causeway Bay to shop and we went to SOGO...a popular department store in HK. There really wasn't anything appealing there so we went back to our favourite place...MONGKOK! LOL if you don't know by now, we unintentionally take detours. Today we did it again. We went into the MTR station only to realize that we could've taken the bus so we got out of the station (paid) and took the bus. Then we look at the MTR station map again and realized we should've taken the subway and NOT the bus HAHAHAH
Before heading to Mongkok we go to Kwai Fong for some cheap clothes. We ate rice in soup and vermicelli YUM!
Lala had to go to the washroom so when we found it, she shoved some lady out of her way lol while the poor lady was trying to get out of the washroom. Clearly, Lala still thinks she's in China LOLS

We head back to Mongkok and we found the exact same bag we saw at Kwai Fong. We used the tag-team bargaining method:
Seller gives us the price, Janice looks at Lala for confirmation, Lala shakes her head and i tell seller "too expensive". Seller refuses to lower price, we walk. Seller chases us back with a calculator in head and gives new price. Lala shakes her head again and we leave. Finally WE give the price. 2 bags for $340HKD! that's like...less than $50 for 2 bags WOOT!

Day 13 November 3 The Peak

Today we had yummy and cheap won ton noodles then we were off to the traveling agency to book our trip to Thailand! it came to a total of $2194HKD + $400HKD tips. WOOOOOT!

We took the bus up to the Peak (a very long and winding uphill drive) and saw the view of HK from above. Pretty sick. After an hour we took the bus back down to Central. We decided to hop off at a stop we were not familiar with and walk around Central. We thought we would be able to find the Star Ferry docks easily, but we got slightly lost lol and it took a very very long time till we found the dock. Finally we boarded the ferry and we were back in TST.

At TST, Janice found a Nikon store. She was in a dire need for a memory card. Janice buys the memory card at "x" amount. Lala needed a battery and memory card too, but the price they were selling it at was too high, so we just ignored the man and walked away while he was bargaining on our behalf (....ladies, $350.....okok....$150....how much you want it for?!?) *we walk away still...*

We got back to Janice's aunts neighbourhood and found a supermarket. We thought this was illegal in hk, but apparently not....FARMER'S BLOW. so friggen nasty. It was a very unclean blow compared to the professionals in China LOL. It was literally dripping. GROSS

We get home, and we were having trouble unlocking the door. it was like we were retarded or something cause both of us couldn't get the door opened. After 10 minutes of looking like we were trying to break into the house lol we decide to call Janice's aunt's cell phone and we hear the phone ringing inside. All this time, the door was locked from the inside cause Janice's aunt was home -.-

First time we were not tired and it's 8pm! usually by 8pm we're both ready to sleep.

Tuesday, November 10, 2009

Day 12: November 2 Lantau Island

Ventured off to see the Big Buddha today at Lantau Island. On our way to the island, we took the 360 degree Nong Ping cable car. Very cool view! Finally got to the island and off we went to see the Big Buddha. Walked up a MILLIONS flights of stairs....boy, we sure were enlightened and exhausted. Note to selves: do not walk towards englightenment when wearing tight jeans.

We came back down from the Big Buddha and ate the famous bean curd dessert. We noticed that our legs were STILL trembling from the stair climb. LOL.

After this, we went to Mongkok and went to the New Centre Mall (we think...) and played at the arcade...the really fun japanese drumming game and of course, Lala sucked at that game LOL.
We also were retarded and wanted to exchange money for dollar coins to play the games, but instead we got tokens instead -.-

We scored some good deals at Mongkok for clothes, and we took the 3C bus home all by ourselves :)

Day 11: November 1 Hong Kong

Had dim sum with Aunt in Tsim Sha Tsui (TST). Then we decided to go to a travel agency to look at different places to go to etc...the guy who worked there was the biggest asshole EVER! Hard selling and pretty much pissung us off with his stank ass attitude.
Then we went to the Avenue of Stars in TST and saw walked along the harbour. We met up with Janice's friend, Ken, and walked around Ladies Market, "Running Shoe" street, took sticker pictures, had some very yummy octopus ball thingies and went to Temple Street and Portland Street...where Young and Dangerous is known for.

Day 10: October 31 Hong Kong

We arrive in Hong Kong!

Since we took the earlier flight we had plenty of time to get ready to celebrate Halloween at Lan Kwai Fong. Janice was a greek goddess (thank you Lala's mom for making the outfit :) ) and Lala was too scared to dress up as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, so she went as a doll? LOL

we arrived at LKF, expecting great things, but we were in for a nightmare. The entire streets in Central and surrounding areas were barricated. Sidewalks were fenced, forcing EVERYONE to walk the same path. It was SOOOOOOO HOT and HUMID and CROWDED!! We walked in circles and we saw different MTR stations that we past and we ended up walking for 1.5hrs in 3 inch heels uphill and downhill with stairs and we STILL weren't at the bar area. We got pissed, so we got a taxi to go home. The taxi driver got lost, we were circling around Janice's Aunt's area for an hour, and we had no idea how to get to Janice's Aunt's place since we JUST arrived in HK a couple hours ago and had no time to scope the place out. The taxi driver got pissed at us cause WE didn't know where we were going when Janice already gave him a written address of where to go. Finally Janice called her aunt to give the taxi driver step-by-step directions and he STILL didn't know how to get us home. Lala recognized the homeless man sleeping in the same spot when we left to go to LKF earlier and we just asked the taxi driver to let us off. He had the nerve to charge us FULL even though HE got lost....$140. Janice said "No, you got lost starting at $80, and that's all you're going to get" and the taxi guy tried to not give us change but Janice asked for her change bitterly.
FINALLY arrived home FML it is now 3am.

Day 10: October 31 Shanghai to Pudong Airport

FML, we run into Tony at Breakfast (refer to previous post)

Took picture with the other bus driver who saved our life from the crazy guy the other day. We made sure he smiled cause his teeth were SO BLACK and CHIPPED LOL He was so happy. He loved us too.

Went to the Old Temple Shopping area where we bought souvenirs and ate famous dumplings and failed miserably at bargaining.

Finally arrived at the Pudong Airport at 12, but our flight was at 6:20pm. We managed to bump our flight up to 2:40pm because of the nice couple from our tour who helped us out.

Lala decides to send postcards out and drops it off at the postcard place at the airport. Cost 15RMB. The guy working there didn't even put stamps on it and we are unsure whether it was actually sent or not.

As much as we hated this tour at times, after looking through the millions of pictures and videos on the camera, it brought back great memories and laughs.

Goodbye Shanghai....we will meet again :)

Day 9: October 30 Wuxi to Shanghai

Today we went to a Tea Factory which specialized in tea pots...yipeeee
Then we went to the Pearl Factory. It was here that we witnessed how rude and scheming our tour guide was
We finally left the pearl factory to see Liu Fang Lake....it was so pointless. It was foggy and the water was so dirty.
WE FINALLY FIGURED OUT THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS SIGNALLING IN A CAR. IN ORDER TO CHANGE LANES, YOU HAVE TO HONK AND THE SHOULDER LANE IS THE PASSING LANE LOL

This is when we had enough with our perverted tour guide. Tour guide acts nice and asks "are you tired?"...we reply "yes, tired of you." HAHAHAHHA He continues to make perverted jokes on the bus and stooped to the level of making sex sounds on the bus WTFFFFFF

we finally get a foot massage!! YAY! after all that walking on flip flops lol. Lucky for me and lala, we got MEN! HAHAH Janice's massage guy was a gangsta...he had all the phsyical appearance of a chinese triad member...tattoos, burnt marks etc. Lala had a scrawny and cross-eyed guy with LONG THUMB NAILS LMAO. We got taken advantage of cause we were wearing shorts FML. Gangsta guy almost broke Janice's leg LOL and when she was screaming in pain, he claimed he wasn't even using pressure or strength...i believed him LOL. Lala toughed it out even though she was in pain, but never said a word, so the cross-eyed guy continued to use more presssure on the foot. Poor Lala was so confused...she didn't know which eye to look at.

After dinner we went on a cruise to see the lights in Shanghai...and saw the Pudong (TV) tower.

We were exhausted after the cruise, but still had to visit Nanjing Road and the Pub district. We ditched the tour group and stayed on the bus. Here, we found out our bus driver had a daughter, that's why he wasn't perverted LOL. He was such a nice man, we took a picture with him.

We finally arrived at the hotel where Tony, our tour guide, said his final goodbye as he will be a tour guide for another group tomorrow. Poor them. BUT, thank goodness for us, we will NEVER HAVE TO SEE HIS UGLY FACE AGAIN! :) :)

FML

Our tour guide is an EFFING PERVERT. Other tour mates told us he always talks about us and he always looks at us....like he's undressing us OMG!!! FML!!!!!

Day 8: October 29 Nanjing to Wuxi

Janice woke up to BED BUG BITES!!! ahhhh Holiday Inn was not very clean and the shower and sleeping area was weird. You can like see whoever is showering from the bedroom cause of the glass window and non-functioning blinds LOL

anyways, we went to see the Confucius temple, stone city and Jade factory. BORING AS USUAL.

This was Janice's FIRST encounter with a new type of squatting toilet...it was a COMMUNAL one. There were stalls, BUT, a semi-circular pipe ran through all the stalls and every stall basically peed into the same pipe. The pee level in the pipe was quite high. Apparently, we found out that the pipe flushes down a drain only during certain hours. So, make sure you don't have any back splash when you pee! LOL EWWWW

We went to a medieval times-like show with horses, people dressed up and fought on their horses. And what do you know, the actors on the horses loved us. They whistled at us while they were performing haha. Afterwards, we went on a boat cruise and the water was SO POLLUTED, it was GREEN with OIL ON IT and SMELLED HORRENDOUS. And what did we do? WE PUT ON THE SARS MASKS! LOL. We showed our legs by wearing shorts BUT our face is now mysterious LOL The local tour guide (he was gay, very funny man) tried to convince us that the water was not polluted and the oil on the top of the water was "L.G" (Algae LOL) and waved his index finger in an "s" motion and did the neck move with it.

In order to avoid getting bitten by mosquitoes, we invented a new walk...the slap and walk. Video to follow.

Day 7: October 28 Suzhou to Nanjing

We visited the Silk factory. People went crazy for the blankets and stuff, but as per usual, we were bored outta our minds. Then we were forced to watch a fashion show. OMG, the models were like freaking anorexic and they need Miss Jay to teach them the model walk. Their chicken head bobbing thing was NOT WORKING OUT.

At lunch, the restaurant provided live entertainment, some lady singing. She was okay.

After lunch, we went on another bridge called the Yantze River bridge, 3rd longest bridge in the world. Inside the building, there was a painting collection of glass pots etc.

****We were soooooo not interested, we decided to get some fresh air outside...and boy, were we in for a surprise.
We were just minding our own business, talking and making documentary videos on Janice's bb, when some man startled us and stuck his face in between ours. We jumped back and he continued to approach us and kept speaking in mandarin asking where we were from. We ignored him but he kept harrassing us. Thankfully, our two bus drivers were nearby and so we ran behind them. The man followed...
He weaved past the bus drivers and we were so freaked out, we were pressed up against the front of the bus which was FILLED WITH DEAD BUGS from driving on the highway etc. Eventually, we pointed at the bus, and the bus driver opened the door and let us in and locked the door. The crazy man had a twitch on his right arm and wouldn't stop swinging it. He started to circle around the bus looking at us from the outside with his CRAZY eyes. We had no air in the bus, but we had no choice but to stay on the bus till he finally left, after the bus drivers said something to him. We got off the bus, and thanked the bus drivers. This was when we became a lot nicer to the bus drivers for the rest of the trip LOL.

After this, we visited Nanjing Road where there were lots of snacks and little street eats. We went back to our Holiday Inn hotel and watched a Nicole Kidman movie and called it a night.

We re-enacted the incident before we passed out. Please watch videos we will be posting.

Day 6: October 27 Suzhou

Visited a Water Village in Wuzhen. We were stalked by a gazillion dirty men on their broken tricycle thing and by foot. OMG, they are like pests. We need a repellent LOL

We ate lunch at a ghetto restaurant. They served the STINKIEST TOFU EVER. We've had stinky tofu, but this was just inhumane. It wasn't deep fried, it was steamed.

Went to visit the Lion's Garden which was 650 years old. 200 years ago, Suzhou had over 300 gardens, but now, only 50 gardens are left. The washroom in this garden was SO filthy...2nd nastiest to the international trade centre.

Went to see Suzhou's Bird's Nest. Stupid us, we actually thought it was the delicacy that people eat. Nope, it was just a performance centre that looked like a birds nest. It was by a freshwater lake...believe us, it was not very fresh at all. LOL.

Dinner was YUMMMMMILICIOUS! had all you can eat CRAB!!!
LaLa: 4
Janice 6
Totaly devoured: 10 :)

After dinner we went to see a Sky Screen which was 500 m long, 100 longer than Las Vegas! It was pretty cool and there were fireworks :)

We were expecting another craptastic hotel, BUTTTTT, when we arrived at the Gusu Jin Jiang, it was THE BESTEST HOTEL EVERRRRRR! 50 STARS! WAY BETTER THAN THE LEXINGTON PLAZA ON OUR FIRST NIGHT. Had our own foyer and bed was stain free, fluffy and bathroom was AMAZING!

P.S. the hotel was so nice, we went to the gym!!!! OMG! HAHAHA

FACTS

1) our squatting muscles have increased dramatically from all the visits to the squatting toilets
2) people like to stare and Lala likes to wave back at them LOL
3) tour guide LOVES to say "buu-tif-full guu-rls" (Beautiful girls)
4) Apparently, Janice's name is hard to pronouce here...it is now "Jennice"
5) Every night we must disinfect our feet.
6) China has the bumpiest roads ever...Steeles and Finch in Toronto have nothing against these bad boys
7) There is no such thing as a weather channel in China. We are our own weather girls.

Day 5: October 26 Hangzhou

First stop of the day: Green tea plantation (aka Dragon Well). This was the 2nd best green tea place in China. We met a man who spoke the best english thus far of our trip...he called himself......"DR. TEA". Even after all his experiments, NO ONE bought any green tea and we all pretended we needed to go to the washroom to get away from the awkward silence.

Lunch was decent, and we met 2 really cute puppies...poodles.

After lunch, we walked around the West Lake...really well-known place in China. It was in this city, that we sang the song from One Republic: Stop and Stare. We apparently stopped people in their tracks, even bus drivers who are reversing into their parking spots HAHA. Before boarding the cruise, we saw a man with the LONGEST PINKY NAIL EVERRRRRR. GROSS. We spent 30 minutes cruising the West Lake which was rather green and smelly. YUM. Afterwards, the sun began to set, and we must admit, it was really really pretty.

After spending a good couple hours at West Lake, we went to Yue Fei's temple and it was during this time, Janice decides to use her psychology background and diagnose a fellow tour mate....we decided she was highly neurotic, anxious and won't STFU.

We went for dinner and our restaurant was beside a strip club. Wonderful. While passing by, they were rolling out the red carpet...no, not for us. Because we didn't join the optional activity, we got left behind to find our way back to the hotel. We learned how to cross the road; DO NOT FOLLOW PEDESTRIAN SIGNS. CARS HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY. DO NOT HESISTATE WHEN CROSSING. NEVER EVER STOP. JUST WEAVE THROUGH THE CYCLISTS, THE BUSES, THE TAXIS AND THE MILLIONS OF PEOPLE. IF YOU STOP, YOU WILL GET RUN OVER.

While touring the city alone, we got hollered at, my brother got stalked by a beggar cause he accidently made eye-contact LOL. Lala got the best of it....SHE GOT HOARKED ON HER LEFT BACK HEEL. yes, she wanted to cut her foot off. Again, Purell to the rescue. My brother also decided to get his game on, and he picked up girls/employees from a store LOL.

Taxi ride home FINALLY. Dangerous, but arrived alive and knocked the eff out.

Day 4: October 25 Hengdian to Hangzhou

If you are wondering why there is no Day 3, it is because we have no recollection of this day. It's like it never happened...LOL

Anyways, we arrive at Emperor Qin Palace...it was HUGE. We dressed up in the clothes like the olden days (you know, the head piece, and elaborate red and gold dresses and stuff lol..pictures to follow). We only had a limited time at the palace and so after playing dress-up, we were late meeting up with our tour group, so we had to pull an "amazing race" dash to the finish line. We ripped off the costumes and the millions of bobby pins on our heads, grabbed our stuff, and ran down a MILLION flights of stairs in flip flops and ran like the wind through the palace (Video to follow...). Next stop was a wood carving place, IT WAS SO EFFING BORING!!! Then we went to another place, an International Trade Centre (wholesale place). This was the GROSSEST and NASTIEST (words cannot describe how filthy we felt after walking into this hell hole). Guess what? WE BOTH SLIPPED ON PHLEGM!!! OMG FML. Then we went to the worst squatting washroom ever. It smelled so poisonous we wanted to die. Janice's flip flop got stuck to the wet ground, which was most likely pee. She managed to avoid touching the ground, but pee still splashed on her poor foot. Purelled (hand sanitizer) the crap out of her left foot. LOL

The day got better. We visited a very famous building, the Leifong Pogoda. To avoid getting bitten by moquitoes, we decided to strip down at the back of the bus and change into sweatpants. Once we got off the bus, the tour guide made his first perverted remark "oh wow, never seen you in long pants" We kindly walked away.

Dinner was the best so far. Had spicy Sizchuen (we don't know how to spell it) food. By this time, we realized we had a drinking buddy. Table 6 was known for drinking the free beer. And yes, our drinking buddy was like 60ish years old. What a nice man and wife and sister in law. After dinner, Lala was attacked by a man selling fake Gucci and LV, which really said Guci and VL LOL.

Day 2: October 23 Hengdian

Rise and shine at 5am!! Breakfast was deeeeeelicious. All you can eat buffet in the morning at The Lexington Plaza. After breakfast, we visited the Expo Centre right in the heart of Shanghai--it was so boring. We decided to venture off into the streets to grab some Starbucks. We needed a coffee fix. During our walk there, it smelled like ASS! As well, during our 15 minute walk to Starbucks, we encountered our very first WALK and STARE. It was during this time we also so the infamous nose picking and hoarking. This was expected. Next stop, All-U-Can-Eat dim sum :) :) and we had our first TsingTao beer. YUM!

We finally left restaurant to travel to Hengdian. It was a 6 hour ride!!! FML. Due to the beer and tea at lunch, Janice had to use the washroom REALLY BADLY except there wasn't a toilet in our bus...She held it in like a trooper while crossing one of the world's LONGEST bridge, 30ish km, which was equivalent to a 36-40 minute bus ride FML. The bridge was actually pretty cool, despite the calling of nature--from an aerial view, the bridge was an S-Shape and coloured like the rainbow :) FINALLY, we arrive at our 3 hour pit stop where we encounter our FIRST squatting toilet. P.S. bring your own toilet paper, otherwise use your hand hahhaha J/K!

Another 3.5 hours on the bus and we finally get to Hengdian Hollywood JUST to watch a 10 minute show and dinner. Show was so amateur and we saw the biggest grossest black creature/bug thing. UGH! we were very exhausted today and very annoyed at EVERYTHING. Expecting great things from our hotel tonight, and we were VERY disappointed...total downgrade. There were stains on the bed, washroom had what they called "Condems" and had pamphlets promoting the prevention of AIDS. Despite the nastiness, we slept again at 10:30.

Day 1: Oct 22/23 Plane Ride...

We survived the 14.25 hour plane ride to Shanghai. Thankfully, we ended up with a 3 seater all to ourselves :) In order to prevent any form of jet lag, we decided to stay awake throughout the whole ride there. Lucky for Janice, she had a disgusting man sit behind her. All he did throughout the whole plane ride was hoark and spit in the SAME barf bag the whole 14.25 hours. Effing gross. After we arrived at the airport, it took 3 hours to get to a shitty restaurant; food was not impressive and the entertainment was rather poor. We thought we'd be in for a crappy night at a grimey hotel but we arrived at The Lexington Plaza....IT WAS AMAZING!!!! 10 star hotel :) bed was so fluffy, it was CLEAN, no stains LOL and the pillows were soooooooo soft. We knocked out at 10:30 :)
